ABOUT THE SMARTER AND SAFER: ERGONOMICS ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS IN MANUFACTURING
You will learn to identify solutions for common risk factors associated with static postures; hand tool use; material handling; and storage and climate control in the manufacturing environment. This course also discusses the advantages, potential disadvantages and approximate costs of each solution. We will evaluate engineering solutions to risk factors identified with the NIOSH lifting, RULA, REBA evaluation tools.
The time frame for completing the online course is 30 days for each participant. 2 Contact Hours CE.

Martha Frame, PT, MS, MBA, CEAS
Marty Frame is a licensed physical therapist who has spent most of her career working with patients with industrial injuries. She has extensive experience in functional capacity evaluations, work hardening/conditioning and ergonomics. She has worked on site with patient treatment and injury prevention at Fortune 500 companies including Frito Lay Inc, Siemens, Ford, Lockheed and MeadWestvaco, in addition to many smaller employers in the greater Atlanta area.
Marty is currently president of Physical Therapy Specialists, Inc where part of her responsibility is patient treatment emphasizing her manual therapy skills, performing FCE’s and work conditioning services. She also is an ergonomic consultant to Northside Hospital. She performs ergonomic assessments in the healthcare, office and industrial areas.
Marty received her BS degree in physical therapy from The Ohio State University, her MS in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine and her MBA from Emory University. She is a member of the APTA and the Occupational Health Special Interest Group.
