ABOUT CEAS™ II: EXPANDED ERGONOMICS ASSESSMENT SKILLS CERTIFICATION
In the intermediate-level CEAS™ II course, registrants practice using the REBA, RULA and Rodgers Muscle Fatigue Analysis. These tools are designed to evaluate individual task steps. You will learn the differences between and uses of these quantifiable evaluation tools; practical techniques for choosing cost effective solutions; and methods to compile concise client reports. Topics include the impact of the aging workforce on the workplace and issues specific to healthcare, office and manual material handling job sites.
CEAS™ II builds on your foundation of basic ergonomics principles and best practices. Learn more about about why ergonomic injuries happen. The ergonomics assessment tools taught are designed to evaluate individual task steps. That improves your ability to correct risks and to perform a task step analysis. The learner will be able to address more involved and complex assessment problems with these new skills. Explore what causes the persistent injury; worker age considerations in ergonomics; job hazard analysis tools; the anatomy/physiology of ergonomics injury; injury risk factors; and the role posture and task repetition play.
There are no prerequisites for this course. You are not required to be CEAS™ Certified before taking this course.
At the successful completion of the workshop you will be awarded your certification designating you as a Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist™ II (CEAS™ II).
The time frame for completing the online course is 90 days for each participant.
Our online course makes it easy to learn at your own pace, on your own schedule. You will:
- View the Workshop Presentation Modules
- Take and pass a 100-question exam with a 90% correct score
- Registrants must analyze a task step from the accompanying videos using the REBA, RULA, and Rodgers Muscle Fatigue Analysis. You must submit one of each evaluation tool - one REBA, one RULA, and one Rodgers, each analyzing a task step. All reports can be based on the same video and task step or any combination of videos and task steps as long all three reports are submitted. Examples of each completed assessment tool are included in the course presentation.
After completing the Course Evaluation, your course work submissions will be personally reviewed by an instructor, who will provide written feedback. You will be notified via email when your Certification has been approved. Your Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist™ II (CEAS™ II) Certificate will then become available to download as a PDF and you will receive 1.5 CEUs (15 contact hours).
There is a 90-day time-frame allotted to complete the course.
If you prefer a more hands-on approach to learning, CEAS II is also offered as a 2-day Live Workshop in select locations across the United States throughout the year.

Ronald W. Porter is a nationally recognized expert in the field of Occupational Safety and Health, and Ergonomics.
In the past 35 years, since becoming Director of the Back School, he has instructed over 1000 workshops and seminars on Ergonomics Awareness and Musculoskeletal Disorder Prevention to physical and occupational therapists; medical doctors; chiropractors; occupational health nurses; and industrial health and safety professionals.
Ron has worked with over 300 companies, including Lockheed Martin Aeronautics; US Foods; Mars Incorporated; E.I. Du Pont; DS Waters; Shell Oil; International Paper; WestRock; Arizona Public Service Company; Association of California Water Agencies/Joint Powers Insurance Agency and the United States Navy; consulting on the development and implementation of innovative ergonomics programs for both individual plant sites and entire corporations.
