Remote Mindfulness and Fitness - Live Online Training
Workshop Hours: 12:30-4:00 Eastern Time

Learn to conduct Mindfulness and Fitness coaching to your ergonomics clients remotely

Benefits of Attending:

Our emerging era in Tele-Work, Tele-Health and Tele-Ed coincides with the expanding international definition of Human Factors and Ergonomics. In the 21st century, physical, cognitive and organizational human factors must be on the forefront of an up-to-date Ergonomist’s mind. New patterns to address these multivariate opportunities are emerging just in time to address remote work realities of the modern millennium.

Evolving workplaces wrangle with the stubborn challenges of the US DOL BLS top exposures, including 1) overexertion and bodily reaction, 2) slips, trips and falls (due to an aging workforce) and 3) cognitive distraction resulting from the relentless draw of pervasive digital devices. This unique, leading-edge course develops best practices for addressing all three simultaneously no matter the setting.

Trailblazing Ergonomists can now leverage remote access to spread knowledge-based influence over multi-site settings. Working one-on-one or one-on-many across vast distances is no longer an obstacle. Applying effective tactics, strategies and techniques to diverse workplace situations and settings is now within reach. The biological, psychological and sociological determinants of health respond very well to an adroit Ergonomics Professional.

Why this course is needed:

In this course, attendees will learn easy-to-use, easy-to-teach cognitive, physical and behavioral techniques to benefit the personal self and the qualified client. Practical tools from the flood of neuroscience literature connecting the mind and body in ever-more effective ways are built-in to this live, interactive experience.

As remote work, remote health and remote ed advanced from luxury to necessity, the need for strategies in workforce flourishing has never been stronger. Millions worldwide woke to a new experience. Many will work from home offices for the foreseeable future. Others will find working hybrids mixed between the familiar and the unknown. All will require new ways to cope, prosper and thrive. This course delivers the game plan to achieve all three.

The cognitive, physical and social changes ushered in by COVID-19 fits neatly with innovative models of effective Ergonomics delivery. Fresh opportunities now present themselves to nimble healthcare practitioners, agile safety professionals and deft human resource specialists.  Change brings challenges. Change also brings choices.

Those who can pivot into innovative, engaging and profitable standards of practice will find more than career survival. A transformative professional flourishing is upon us. Harnessing this revolution by improving inherent value in the marketplace is imperative. Opportunities to reinvent whole fields come only once in a lifetime. Seize it.

How we meet the need:

For years, professional groups such as The American Physical Therapy Association have stated: “In physical therapy, patients / clients are asking for more time-efficient and less costly care models. Busy lifestyles make it difficult for greater numbers of people to attend [twice-to-three-times a week onsite] appointments.”

The APTA also recognizes: “Applications of telehealth in physical therapy already allow PT’s to better communicate with patients / clients and provide more flexible care.”

Lastly, the APTA acknowledges: “Telehealth will not replace traditional clinical care - but it will give flexibility to provide services efficiently. Quicker screening, assessment and referral can improve care coordination within collaborative delivery models.” These published statements were made prior to COVID-19.

Responding to this, deft Safety Professionals, agile Healthcare Practitioners and nimble Human Resource Specialists among others can confront this emerging landscape with fresh eyes aimed at building innovative best practices.

Learning Objectives:

  • Practice and apply in both live onsite and remote online settings the learned information, and be prepared to perform a Remote Metronomic Breathwork progression, using an advancing format of 1) Vagal Tone Breath, 2) The 4-7-8 Breath, and 3) The Navy SEAL Box Breath to future clients.
  • Formulate and utilize in both live onsite and remote online settings the studied material, and be equipped to execute a Remote Embodied Cognition progression, using an expanding structure of 1) Bilateral Symmetrical, 2) Bilateral Asymmetrical, and 3) Bilateral Reciprocal activities using ancient martial arts warmups and movements.
  • Explain and relate approaches that address the 2018 US DOL BLS Macro-Ergonomics Exposure Trends by using The International Ergonomics Association’s Meso-Ergonomics interventions of 1) Physical Human Factors, 2) Cognitive Human Factors, and 3) Organizational Human Factors.
  • Evaluate and design methods that impact the 2018 US DOL BLS Macro-Ergonomics Exposure Trends by using emergent properties of Engel’s (1977) Bio-Psycho-Social Model to Micro-Ergonomics workforce interventions of 1) Biological Determinants of Health, 2) Psychological Determinants of Health, and 3) Sociological Determinants of Health.
